The incident caused the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the multi-storey parking facility.

Two individuals are now facing charges following a suitcase robbery where a suspected pepper spray led to people being hurt at London's Heathrow Airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and charges for administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.

This legal action stems from an probe of an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their suitcases taken after exiting a car park lift, authorities reported.

A toddler was one of the people hurt in the event. Five people required hospital care and were later discharged.

The incident – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not considered a terror-related act – led to train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
