David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.

The comedian

Prolific writer for children and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A representative for the publisher commented: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the decision was made after an inquiry regarding claims about inappropriate behaviour towards young women.

The company has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, having sold more than 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.

A number of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles altogether, including a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago for his services to charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
