Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Due to Crack in Windshield
A plane ferrying Pete Hegseth was required to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was found in the aircraft's cockpit window, as stated by an official announcement which verified that all passengers were secure.
"The aircraft touched down in accordance with standard protocol and all passengers, among them Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," an official representative commented in a online announcement.
He was traveling back from a short visit to the Belgian capital when the incident occurred.
This event does not mark the first time that a US military aircraft ferrying a top government figure has encountered mechanical issues.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was required to head back to Washington after experiencing a technical issue.
